This hotel truly shines with its exceptional restaurant quality. The food impressed me, particularly the diverse menu options featuring local ingredients. I enjoyed breakfast. it included a delightful spread of fresh breads and Appenzeller cheeses. The layout of my Junior Suite was also quite spacious with a cozy sitting area, offering lovely views of the hills outside. However, I faced some inconvenience with noise levels from the wooden floors above. I was woken up multiple times at night due to guests in the room above. Although the staff were naturally friendly, the lack of soundproofing is a significant drawback. The room lacked tea/coffee facilities too, which would have added a nice touch to my stay.

An outdated television left much to be desired, and the lack of air conditioning was disappointing, particularly in warm weather!!! Clearer communication regarding room change policies would also help improve the experience!!!

great stay but noisy at times
I enjoyed the spacious Standard Double Room that offered a lovely view of the neighboring hills. The staff members were consistently friendly and cheerful, bringing a warm atmosphere throughout my visit. The breakfast spread was delightful with fresh local breads and cheeses that truly showcased the region's flavors.
The noise from the local bells in the morning could be quite disruptive.

The room was large and comfortable with a view of the
neighboring hills. The hotel staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating, making the stay pleasant. Be aware though, the local bells might disrupt your early sleep with their hourly chimes. Overall, a delightful experience.

Plenty of quality options for breakfast like fresh breads local cheeses and fruits. The hotel is right on the main square in Appenzell making it super convenient with lots of nearby restaurants 🍽️.

Had such a lovely stay with great food and a fabulous spa! I really enjoyed relaxing in the sauna after a day of exploring and the massage was heavenly. Just a heads up, the local bells can be quite loud in the mornings, but don't let that stop you from enjoying this gem! 😊

Couples will love this place!
Had an unexpected upgrade to a lovely room with stunning views of the hills, think I could get used to this. Breakfast was a delight with a spread that had everything from local cheeses to fresh bread,, I mean who doesn’t like that?
It wasn’t exactly budget-friendly but still worth it.
